The Vokey Design SM11 Lightweight Wedges are designed for moderate swing speed players who play lighter shafts in their irons. Matching your wedge shafts to your irons creates a consistent shaft profile throughout the bag, leading to better control on approach shots and scoring shots around the green.

To improve upon the SM10's tour-proven performance, Vokey and his team hyper-focused on the crucial elements of elite wedge play, beginning with flight. Vokey and his team work closely with PGA Tour players throughout the entire development of every new SM wedge. During the first phase of this process, where the pros are asked what they like about the current model and what changes they'd like to see, the team discovered why so many of the world's best wedge players gravitate towards the T grind: it produces the launch and ball flight they prefer. CG, or center of gravity, is almost entirely responsible for a wedge's flight dynamics, so Vokey engineers replicated the T grind's tour-preferred dynamics across the entire lineup. Now, unlike previous SM models, which had slightly different CG positions within the same loft due to differing sole widths and geometries, each SM11 produces the launch and flight demanded by the world's best.

Next, the team locked in on enhancing spin, the second of Vokey's keys to successful wedge play. Thanks to manufacturing upgrades, Vokey engineers increased the SM11's groove volume by 5% compared to the SM10. The added volume prevents spin reduction caused by debris between the ball and the face, ensuring greater consistency and control, especially from the rough and in wet conditions. The SM11 also features a new directional face texture. By creating more friction and prolonging the time the ball is in contact with the face, the texture imparts more spin and reliable control on greenside shots.

The SM11 lineup comprises an industry-leading 27 unique configurations of six tour-proven grinds: F, S, M, D, K, and T.

F: All-purpose grind suited to full swings and square face shots. Perfect for those who prioritize a traditional wedge sole.

D: Versatile, forgiving, high-bounce option with a heel, toe, and trailing edge grind. Ideal for players with a steeper angle of attack who use a variety of clubface positions.

T: Low bounce and narrow sole that hugs the ground with maximum heel, toe, and trailing edge relief. Perfect for players seeking ultimate shot-making versatility from any condition.

M: Vokey's favorite, the M, is designed for players who rotate the face open and closed to manufacture shots around the green. Ideal for shallower, more sweeping swings and a variety of club face positions.

K: A high bounce option and the ultimate bunker club. A wide, full sole with enhanced camber provides excellent forgiveness from a variety of softer sand and turf conditions.

S: The most versatile offering with a full sole narrowed by a trailing edge. Suited to neutral to firm conditions and players who control loft by moving their hands ahead or behind the ball.

How do I become a golf professional?

To become a club professional or teaching professional it will cost some money, take some time and require you to apply yourself, just like any other career path

What do you need to start playing golf?

To get started as a beginner golfer, you’ll need golf clubs, balls, and tees, as well as a bag to store the equipment in. You’ll also need golf shoes that won’t damage the course, appropriate golf clothing depending on the weather, a towel for cleaning your clubs, and a divot repair tool.

What should you wear when golfing?

While there isn't a strict dress code at all golf courses, it's generally recommended to wear collared shirts, slacks or shorts, and golf-specific shoes or athletic shoes. Breathable, moisture-wicking clothing is recommended to help keep you cool and comfortable while out on the course. A hat is also wise to wear to help keep UV rays off your skin.

How do you aim a golf ball?

Aiming a golf ball involves aligning yourself and the clubface in relation to your intended target. The proper stance and grip are instrumental in correctly aiming the golf ball. Practice aligning yourself and the clubface during your practice sessions to develop a reliable sense of aim.
