The OPTM MAX Fairway is intentionally formulated with a left-bias for players battling a slice. Strategic weight placement shifts the CG closer to the hosel, creating higher launch and quicker face closure. Extended use may result in straighter shots, enviable high soft draws, and a permanent reduction in slices.

The OPTM MAX is engineered to deliver superior forgiveness and a high, effortless launch to players who fight a slice. Two weights in the fairway's sole can be interchanged to fine-tune draw bias and stability dynamics.

MOI, or "moment of inertia", is the term the golf industry uses to measure a club's stability and forgiveness. When a mishit occurs, the club head rotates around the ball, causing the face to twist open and push a shot offline. The higher the MOI, the more stable the club is, and the more resistant it is to twisting at impact. Cobra's OPTM family of metalwoods and hybrids is the first to optimize the club head for POI, or "product of inertia." While MOI measures stability in both horizontal and vertical directions, POI measures stability diagonally. By optimizing both MOI and POI using advanced supercomputing to strategically position weight in the head, OPTM delivers dramatically increased stability and forgiveness. Cobra's testing supports that claim, with OPTM producing significantly tighter dispersions, meaning longer and straighter mishits.

COBRA OPTM MAX Fairway Woods Feature:

  • Traditional shape/profile, high launch, mid spin
  • Designed to launch it high and help eliminate the slice
  • A.I. optimized for MOI and POI for maximum stability and forgiveness, resulting in reduced side spin, a tighter dispersion, and increased accuracy
  • 2 Interchangeable sole weights (14g, 3g) allow you to fine-tune dynamics: heavier weight in the back increases stability with a slight draw-bias, heavier weight in the heel maximizes draw bias
  • FutureFit33 hosel system offers 33 unique loft and lie settings for more fine-tuned customization options (loft and lie can be adjusted +/- 2° independently; SMARTPAD keeps the face angle square in every setting)
  • Stock Shafts: Mitsubishi Kai'li Dark Waves Red
  • Stock Grip: SuperStroke Crossline Black (Standard Size, 60R)
  • Headcover Included

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I become a golf professional?

To become a club professional or teaching professional it will cost some money, take some time and require you to apply yourself, just like any other career path

What do you need to start playing golf?

To get started as a beginner golfer, you’ll need golf clubs, balls, and tees, as well as a bag to store the equipment in. You’ll also need golf shoes that won’t damage the course, appropriate golf clothing depending on the weather, a towel for cleaning your clubs, and a divot repair tool.

What should you wear when golfing?

While there isn't a strict dress code at all golf courses, it's generally recommended to wear collared shirts, slacks or shorts, and golf-specific shoes or athletic shoes. Breathable, moisture-wicking clothing is recommended to help keep you cool and comfortable while out on the course. A hat is also wise to wear to help keep UV rays off your skin.

How do you aim a golf ball?

Aiming a golf ball involves aligning yourself and the clubface in relation to your intended target. The proper stance and grip are instrumental in correctly aiming the golf ball. Practice aligning yourself and the clubface during your practice sessions to develop a reliable sense of aim.
